So I found this really spiffy cool blog. It’s called Oulu Daily Photo, and you can check it out here. It really got me thinking about the general stuff that I’m going to see in Finland.

I know that I dont have a clue where I’m going yet, but I know that it is going to be in Finland, so i thought I would try and check out some of the things that I would like to do while I’m over there, from the completely insane and random to the most basic stuff.

1. I would reallylike to learn the Finnish AND the Swedish language to a good competency level while im over there, I think that would be pretty awesome.
2. Skiing is a MUST on my to-do list. I went skiing in artificial snow in Australia, but I was about 10 at the time and I don’t really remember it, so thats something I really would like to do while I have the perfect opportunity.
3. I want to go to Rovaniemi and visit Santa’s workshop, because secretly I’m a little kid at heart. I think that Lappland looks like so much fun, apart from the sheer cold.
4. While im up in Lappland, or if I get placed high enough up in Finland, I want to see the Northern Lights. I think that this is really a phenomenon you have to experience in person, and the photos, while they do them justice, seem to be missing out on something, and I want to find out what.
5. I want to go to Seinäjoki for Provinssirock. It just sounds like an awesome concert.
6. (I know that I’ll get to do this one) I’d like to have my very first Sauna in Finland, because there really is no better place to try it out:D
7. I want to get involved with venturers or rovers while I’m over there, just to see how they do things over there, and to meet new people. And finally…
8. I want to meet as many new people and make as many friends as I can while im over there.

I couldn’t really think of anything more at the moment. BUT there is plenty more things that I want to do, I can assure you.
I started making a knew pair of mittens today! I’ll get pictures up tomorrow or on the next post hopefully!

And the Finnish word of the day is kirja which is the finnish word for book.
